Help with MDM Sidekick
Email shekharabhishek02@gmail.com. Say which Jamf Pro version you run and what you tapped. Please do not send passwords or recovery keys.
I cannot sign in
- Use only the server address, for example
yourschool.jamfcloud.com. It must be reachable over HTTPS. - Use a standard Jamf Pro user account. Accounts that sign in through single sign-on cannot get an API token with a password, which is a Jamf limitation.
- On-premise servers need a certificate iOS trusts. A self-signed certificate is refused.
It says my account does not have the privilege
The app can do what your Jamf Pro account is allowed to do and no more. Ask your Jamf administrator to add the privilege named in the message, for example "Send Computer Remote Lock Command" or "View Disk Encryption Recovery Key".
A record type shows "Not found"
Jamf retires API versions over time and servers differ. Email the record type and your Jamf Pro version and it will be fixed in an update.
I sent a command and nothing happened
Jamf Pro queues commands and the device acts when it next checks in. A device that is off or offline acts when it comes back. "Send blank push" asks it to check in now.
Is advanced mode safe?
It is off each time you sign in. Commands that interrupt someone ask you to confirm, and Erase needs the device name typed out. Practice on the demo server: nothing there is real.
